Wednesday and Thursday, November 29-30
On Wednesday, Ben Hartman will be presenting an all day intensive workshop on lean farming and business management. The majority of the day will be spent in a classroom learning from Ben. Breakout brainstorm sessions will also help you leave with a concrete plan to lean up your farm. We’ll break the day up with a tour of Rosecreek Farm and a discussion of how they have implement lean on their farm. After dinner, we’ll end the day with a farmer mixer, a great time for conversion and networking.
On Thursday Ray Tyler and Michael Kilpatrick will bring value with several important topics for farmers include marketing, southern production techniques, and washing shed setup.
Michael will deep dive into finding your ideal customer, and focusing your marketing efforts on strategies that work. He’ll discuss how to connect with chefs to get consistent orders, easy changes to your Farmers Market stand that will double your sales, and CSA strategies that keep members signing up year after year. He’ll also cover running the numbers on your production and finding your profit centers for a more sustainable farm.
Ray will talk about how they’ve tripled their income with year round greens production in the South and Rosecreek Farm’s marketing strategy that has made them a major regional player.
Ray and Michael will also cover washing shed basics and how to set your area up for optimal effectiveness.
We’ll finish up with a panel discussion with Michael, Ray and several other local growers who have focused on alternative revenue streams for their farms.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided on Wednesday with breakfast and lunch provided on Thursday.

Want to stay on site? Need more interaction, training and want to spend some time diving into tools? Tuesday is devoted to implementation. We’ll start in the field with Ben Hartman demonstrating lean techniques for the tools and systems that he uses on his farm. A full morning will be spent on the paperpot transplanter and how that revolutionized Ben’s farm. After lunch, we will dive into tools of all scale, what makes lean systems work and talk about tunnels. You will get a chance to try out different tools and be coached on proper form and usage.
This package includes 3 nights lodging, the VIP tool day on Tuesday, Lean Masterclass and Farm Smart on Wednesday and Thursday, and all meals. Arrive Monday night and leave Thursday evening. Enjoy the convenience of staying on site and having additional time to network and ask questions.

This one day, high end mastermind is a proverbial brain trust in the regenerative agriculture community. This package is a once in a lifetime opportunity to hang out with some of the industry leaders at a fraction of their individual consulting rates.
The day will start off with introductions over breakfast and move into the field to discuss, brainstorm, and rapid prototype innovative tools for the market gardener. After the tools discussion, we’ll move into a roundtable where each mastermind coach will spend some time sharing their biggest takeaways from 2017 and lead a guided discussion on how to implement practical ideas. The day will continue with you having ample time to ask your farming, business, and marketing questions and have the group help you brainstorm effective solutions. We’ll end the day with a wonderful dinner and fruitful conversation.

As farmers with families we understand the challenge of events like these. Therefore we are aiming to make it as easy as possible.
We have a separate building that will be setup for nursing mothers. Please let us know if you are in need of these services so we can plan appropriately. We do ask that you are respectful of noise levels in the presentation area. Please contact Ashley Tyler here if you are interested.
Want to bring the kids?
We understand that a conference can be a fun family experience! However, with the intense schedule and high amounts of information being presented, it can also be a challenge. We ask that kids under 5 spend time with provided childcare, unless they are content to quietly be with you. We offer two options for kids.
Meals only: for children ages 4 – 12 the registration fee is $45 for the Wednesday/ Thursday Masterclass. This includes all meals and snacks. Please contact Ashley Tyler here if you are interested.
Meals and childcare: we are happy to announce that we have teamed with some local babysitters to provide childcare during the event for children up to 12 years old. This is an additional $10 per day per child so the registration fee is $63 for the Masterclass. Please contact Ashley Tyler here if you are interested.

Rosecreek Farm is located in Selmer, TN approximately 2 hours from Memphis International Airport and 3 hours from Nashville.
Note- Mastermind and Tool summit attendees stay onsite and have their rooms included.
